¹⁴ The Yeast of the Pharisees.^[a] They had forgotten to bring any bread with them, and they had only one loaf in the boat. ¹⁵ Jesus then gave them this warning, “Be careful, and beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and the yeast of Herod.” ¹⁶ They talked about this to one another and concluded: “It is because we have no bread.”
